Who doesn’t remember as a kid seeing Remote Control Robots on TV and thinking one day I’ll have one? I personally remember seeing Robots doing tasks like cleaning and having conversations with their human owners. In those days Remote Control Robots were impossible to find and if you did find them they didn’t perform like the ones you saw on tv or they were crazy expensive. R/C Robot ownership wasn’t something kids could easily attain.
Fast Forward to the year 2023, technology has come a long and I mean very long way since the 1980’s. Let me introduce to you the Bezgar TR300 R/C Robot. Behold the dreams I had as a kid are now available for the kids today. The Bezgar TR300 is exactly what I was looking for as a kid. It fights, it shoots, it talks, it even dances. Yep that’s right it dances.
Right out of the Box the TR300 comes completely assembled. All you have to do is charge it with the supplied USB charging cord. Per Bezgar the 600 mAh rechargeable battery supplies well over an hour of playing time. And we agree. We’ve had it months and honestly have only had to charge it twice. And being a 600 mAh battery it does not take 2 days to charge, which is fantastic. No one wants to wait several hours or days before waiting for their toy to charge before they can play with it again. And it’s a good size, dimensions are 12X6X14 inches and it weighs 3.45 pounds.
The TR300 is super simple to learn how it functions. The remote functions are clearly labeled on each button on the controller. Literally within 10 minutes anyone can become a pro on using it. It has 2 types of walking motions, one being a slide type move with the wheels on the bottom pushing it along the surface. The other is the robot taking actual steps. There are controls to raise and lower each arm. With one control allowing the right hand to shoot 5 darts that are included with the robot. These are the suction cup type of darts that are completely safe for you and your child. There are also multiple functions on the controller to make the robot talk in different types of Robot lingo, and play different types of music.
The TR300 has a dance button, and honestly it was one of our favorite functions. The Robot dances while it plays music and it moves to the beat of that music. We got a kick out of it and we know your kid will too. There is also a program button on the remote enabling you to program the moves of the robot as you like. It really is an intuitive electronic device. We tested this Robot out with multiple people of varying ages. Adults loved it. It was fun and made them remember their childhood. We also had a few 12 year olds test it out. They really like the functions and the multiple commands that the Robot responds to. Bezgar has a suggested age of 3+ on the TR300 and we feel that is definitely an appropriate age guide. It is simple enough for a 3 year old to use. Obviously the darts and movement would cause it to not be recommended for a 1-2 year old.
The few issues we ran into with the robot are most definitely in the miniscule category. The 12 year olds noticed that the remote control for the robot does not work really well from approximately 5 plus feet away. The remote is an IR style controller meaning you need to point it directly at the Robot to work, essentially like a TV remote. And another item we found to be less than desirable was that when the robot is turned on, it will start walking within 10 or so seconds unless you push the stop button on its controller. We found this to only be an issue if we had it on a desk or surface where we had a small area for it to stand on. This was because it would walk and fall off of the desk unless we pushed the stop button. The Robot does require a flat surface such as a kitchen floor or desk to work on. It does not handle high pile carpet at all. We used it on low pile carpet like a carpeted office setting and it worked perfectly. Just keep that in mind when using it in various locations.
Overall we highly recommend the Bezgar TR300 as it is most definitely a toy you’ll get hours and hours of fun out of. And it’s well built. We dropped it more than once by accident and it never broke. It is currently on sale by Bezgar for Black Friday and it’s a steal of a deal whether being on sale or not. If a R/C Robot sounds cool to you (and it should) we suggest you look into the Bezgar TR300.
