Italian scores second successive top 10 finish at sweltering Czech Grand Prix as title race gets a big shake up.

Red Bull KTM Tech 3’s Enea Bastianini secure his second successive top 10 finish since failing to finish his home Italian Grand Prix with a fighting 10th place at a sweltering and controversial Czech Grand Prix in Brno on Sunday. Here is all you need to know:
– Soaring temperatures at the classic, undulating Autodrom Brno made for a gruelling race weekend. Nevertheless, Bastianini didn’t wilt under the sun and the top KTM rider all weekend.
– The Italian followed on his good form from the Hungarian Grand Prix to score points in both Saturday’s Sprint race and Sunday’s main event. Seventh place in the Sprint netted Bastianini three points.
– Then, in a hard fought Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon, the Red Bull KTM Tech 3 rider secured another six points for 10th place in an extremely close finish that saw him beat Pro Honda LCR’s Brazilian rookie Diogo Moreira and Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Brad Binder into 11th and 12th spots by less than a second.
– Further down the field, two-time WSBK world champion Toprak Razgatlıoğlu claimed 14th and was top Yamaha finisher for Prima Pramac Yamaha, while Maverick Viñales finished 15th on the second Red Bull KTM Tech 3 machine.

– It was a weekend to forget for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing team leader Pedro Acosta, who suffered DNFs in both the Sprint and Grand Prix races. After finishing a superb second in Hungary at the previous round, the Spanish rider was again fighting for a podium position in Sunday’s main race when a technical problem late in the race forced him to pull off the track, resulting in zero points that hit his Riders’ Championship hopes hard.
– After Riders’ Championship points leader Marco Bezzechi was banned from racing Sunday’s main event after an altercation with a track marshall on Saturday, Ducati Lenovo Team’s Marc Márquez won the race and moved right back into championship contention, just 40 points off the lead.
– Bezzechi continues to lead the standings on 180 points, but now only 48 points separate the Aprilia rider and Acosta, who dropped back to sixth place in the standings after his unfortunate weekend.
