Oceanside, CA, – April 28, 2026 – Jeff Hermann has focused his campaign on a strong pillar for the automotive aftermarket, and it’s centered on a clear and urgent platform; engaging the next generation of automotive consumers, technicians, engineers, and industry professionals. “The future of our industry depends on who we bring into it today,” said Hermann. “This isn’t a long-term idea; it’s an immediate priority. If we want SEMA and the automotive aftermarket to remain strong, innovative, and relevant, we must actively engage the next generation now.”
Hermann’s campaign emphasizes that the next wave of enthusiasts will shape not only consumer demand, but also the workforce that designs, builds, installs, and sells aftermarket products. From evolving consumer behavior to shifting career interests, younger generations are entering the automotive space differently and more competitively alongside other industries who are vying for their attention.
“This is not just about future customers,” Hermann added. “It’s about our future technicians, engineers, and employees. Other industries are actively recruiting them. If we don’t meet them where they are and speak their language, we risk losing them altogether.”
With deep industry connections and hands-on involvement in community events, racing engagements, and emerging automotive culture, Hermann brings a practical and proven approach to outreach. His work reflects a commitment to meeting younger audiences through experiences that resonate—whether at grassroots events, motorsports platforms, or digital communities where automotive passion is evolving.
Hermann also points to his company, MagnaFlow Group, as a successful model already in motion. MagnaFlow has demonstrated what proactive engagement can achieve, with annual internship programs that have attracted thousands of applicants and engaged more than 500+ participants since the program’s inception. These initiatives highlight the demand and opportunity that exist when the industry invests in early youth connections. “Programs like these show that the next generation is interested—we just have to open the door,” Hermann said. “SEMA has the scale and influence to amplify these efforts across the entire association.”
In addition to youth engagement, Hermann is committed to increasing awareness and accessibility around key SEMA resources and particularly the SEMA Garage. He believes many small and mid-sized businesses are not fully utilizing the Garage’s capabilities due to a lack of awareness or perceived barriers to entry.
“The tools are there, we need to make sure everyone knows how to use them at both the Diamond Bar and Detroit garages,” Hermann said. “From measuring sessions to ADAS to emissions certifications, the SEMA Garage is one of our greatest assets. We need to simplify access and amplify awareness so businesses of all sizes can benefit.”
Industry leader Alex Parker, President of Redline Detection, who served as a SEMA Launch Pad judge has voiced strong support for Hermann’s candidacy and vision:
“Jeff is exactly the kind of leader SEMA needs right now. He understands how to bring the next generation forward; not just by talking about it, but by creating real pathways into the industry. He’s also a strong advocate for small businesses, helping them better understand and access the full value of SEMA membership and all of its resources. Just as important, Jeff recognizes the need to protect our industry while preparing it for what’s next. From emerging technologies to shifting regulations, he has the perspective and drive to help move the entire aftermarket forward.”
Jeff’s vision is to build a stronger, more inclusive, and future-ready SEMA, one that not only attracts the next generation but also empowers its current members with the tools, access, and knowledge needed to thrive in a rapidly changing automotive landscape.
Hermann is currently a candidate for the 2026 SEMA Board of Directors, where he is focused on protecting motorsports, preserving automotive culture, and helping lead the aftermarket into the future. Visit https://www.jeff4sema.com and https://www.sema.org/2026-bod-candidates for more information.
