If you’re into hunting you know that your ATV/UTV is a must use tool to get you in and out of hunting areas. And obviously you’re going to need a way to transport your firearm with you. We’ve seen a lot of mounts in the UTV industry for firearms. And to be frank, none of them seem to have that “It” factor for us. There are many different styles and location setup style mounts. But when we laid our eyes on the Kolpin Gun Boot XL it was love at first sight. This is a hard case  that also includes a soft boot inside of it. Providing your firearm 2 layers of protection from the elements and scratches from being jostled around. It has the largest interior of all Kolpin gun boot cases. It offers single handed entry with a hinged lid for quick easy access to your firearm. There is an integrated rubber strap that keeps it sealed when in the closed position.

It also has a lockable access door and it can be locked to the auto latch mount that Kolpin also offers for this boot. The gun boot also contains a zippered foam liner for extra protection of your firearm. The hard case has an integrated carrying handle and integrated feet. And another amazing quality of this boot is that it meets the TSA guidelines for air travel. And not to mention its made in the good ole U.S.A.

It secures virtually all firearms up to 52″ in length. Including attached Bi-pods and scopes. This Gun Boot XL is a killer design. I haven’t seen something this high of quality in… well forever. It does the job you need it to do and it does it in style and class. That hard outer shell has withstood the elements that we’ve thrown at it. And it cleans up quite nicely too. Keeping it looking like a million bucks. And it’s an amazing value at $90. It just looks cool and  it is cool and amazingly functional as it travels down the trail on the rear of our machine.

A great add on is the Stronghold mount $70. This is one of the most universal mounts I’ve ever seen. It can be mounted to your cargo bed on the side, on the back, on the roll cage or any flat drillable surface. We chose to mount it to the back of our cargo bed as we had a rear window that impeded mounting it to the roll cage. The kit come with various bolts, plates, u-bolts and all kinds of hardware to give it the ability to be mounted almost anywhere on a machine. It is also compatible with Polaris composite bed rails using the Polaris lock and ride compatible plungers.

It has a spring loaded latch that holds the gun boot into place until you press it down thus releasing it. It’s a true quick release style mount. It has an engineered steel bracket for precision angling and attachment to vehicles.

They really thought this mount through. It’s so universal and so easy to mount that it requires little effort to install. And the instructions are easy to read and understand. This is quite possibly the perfect quick release mount. It’s built rigid and it’s built to last, you literally can tell that, simply by holding it in your hands. The quality feel is just there. We love the heck out of this thing. Bravo to the designers at Kolpin. Everything in this system this just works perfectly. We can’t say enough good things about this product. It does what it is meant to do and does it really well.
