We here at Torqued Magazine love high quality, purposeful, everyday carry products. We seek out such products as we know they aren’t always easy to come by.
Behold, Bear & Son Cutlery. A Company that is known for quality, dependability and 100% made in the U.S.A.

We were able to get our hands on the New for 2019, Bear & Son Cutlerys Model 112, a 4 inch Stainless Steel frame lock knife. Not only is it a beautiful true 100% stainless steel knife, but its amazingly useful and perfect for an EDC knife.

Let’s get ya covered on the specs of this unit.

The 112, 4″ Stainless weighs in at 2.4 oz. Closed length is 4″ inches, blade length is 2 and 7/8″ with a total opened length of 7 inches.

The blade is made of High Carbon Stainless Steel. And the handle is made of Stainless Steel.

Diving more into the blade, it is a Hollow Ground, high carbon stainless steel blade. That makes it rust resistant, easy to sharpen and it holds it’s edge.

The 112 was built with dual thumb studs to make for easier opening of the blade. A well built and thoughtout frame lock perfectly locks the blade into the open position. Also a perfect sized pocket clip was added, allowing for tip up carry.

Now that we’ve got you covered with the specs, let’s talk about how this knife worked for us. Right off the bat, the knife comes packaged in a protective box with an added carrying pouch for the knife. You get quality just in the packaging. The knife itself is really good looking. Sleek, narrow, and easy to grip would be my first eyes on description. The blade opens smoothly, it’s not hard to open or too loose where it flops around. The frame lock works flawlessly.

The blade, oh thee blade the blade is everything the manufacturer says it is. It came to us already mega sharp. We were able to cut notebook paper on half one handed. We cut various textiles and materials with no issues or hangups. The blade is solid. We tried to bend it, didn’t happen. So we brought in the big guns for the unconventional testing. A jar of peanut butter and 2 slices of wheat bread. We made ourselves what we consider a perfect PB sandwich. To us, EDC means all possible daily situations. Even Peanut Butter sandwich making if it comes to it.

The knife cleans up easily from any task or residue left on it. What about packing tape glue? Yep, even packing tape glue.

We can’t recommend this knife or any other of Bear and Son Cutlerys line of products enough. They build them right and build them to last.
