New app brings public charging into one seamless experience with one-tap access to tens of thousands of charging stations across North America
Houston, TX | August 20th, 2026 — Octopus Energy US is stretching its tentacles beyond the home and onto the open road with Octopus Charge, bringing the customer-first approach behind Europe’s largest electric vehicle (EV) charging platform to public charging in the U.S. The app gives EV drivers a seamless way to find and access charging on-the-go all from one place.
As more drivers make the switch to electric vehicles, worries about charging scarcity can make public charging feel more complicated than it needs to be. Octopus Charge is helping untangle that complexity by bringing charger discovery and charging sessions together in a single app so drivers can spend less time hopping between apps and more time enjoying the journey.

Octopus Charge builds on the success of Octopus Energy Group’s award-winning Electroverse platform in the UK and Europe. Since launching in 2020, Electroverse has become Europe’s largest EV charging platform, giving drivers access to more than one million public charge points across more than 40 countries through a single app and account.
Now, Octopus Energy US is bringing the same customer-first philosophy that made Electroverse a hit overseas to drivers through Octopus Charge, helping make charging on the go as effortless as charging at home.
