  • Top seeds Coello and Tapia went into Sunday’s final looking to deny Argentine Stupaczuk the chance to win an elite title in a 10th consecutive year and they got off to a great start by winning the first set 6-2. Their opponents dug deeper in the second set, but still lost out 7-5 in a tiebreak.
  • Coello, 24, said: “I’d never won here before, so this victory means a lot to us. We knew we had to play well this week to build confidence and get into the right rhythm. I want to thank everyone here in Germany for the incredible support.”
  • The men’s draw saw second seeds Alejandro Galán and Fede Chingotto pushed to three sets in the Round of 16 with Stupaczuk and Sanz seeing off fifth seeds Martin Di Nenno and Francisco Navarro 6-3 6-3 in the quarter-finals as the top three seeds progressed smoothly to the last four.
  • Saturday’s semi-finals saw the fourth seeds shock Galán and Chingotto 7-6 6-4 however, once Coello and Tapia had taken down third seeds Juan Lebrón and Leandro Augsburger 6-2 6-3, Stupaczuk and Sanz’s run came to an end with Sunday’s final showing why the world number ones are still a force to be reckoned with.
  • Tapia, 27, added: “It’s been a very positive week. We really wanted to win this tournament. I also want to congratulate the other guys. They’re a fantastic team and have been playing really well.”
  • The women’s draw saw another easy march through to Saturday’s semi-finals for the top four seeds as they all crushed their opposition in Friday’s quarter-finals at the buzzing CASTELLO Düsseldorf.
  • Top seeds Gemma Triay Pons and Delfina Brea Senesi lost the first set 7-5 in their semi-final against third seeds Ariana Sánchez Fallada and Andrea Ustero Prieto, levelled it 6-3 but lost out 7-5 in the deciding set as the two pairs put on a show for the crowd over two hours and 56 minutes of riveting padel play.
  • Not to be outdone, Fernández and Calvo grabbed the first set 6-4 against second seeds Bea González and Paula Josemaría Martín, only to be brought back level 7-5 in the second set. They regrouped, though, to win the deciding set 7-5 in a tiebreak in an epic three hours and seven minutes of action.
  • Sánchez and Ustero went into the final already locked in as number two in the FIP Race Ranking, however they were no match for Fernández and Calvo who blew them away 6-3 6-0 in just over an hour to win their second title as a pair following their breakthrough London P1 title success in August.
  • Fernández, 20, said: “Winning here is amazing. This is our second title as a pair and we’re incredibly happy. It was a dream final, and we played at a very high level.”
  • Calvo, 18, added: “When we played them in Paris, things didn’t go well for us because they played a perfect match. Today, I think we played a perfect match ourselves. Next week we want more!”
  • There is no rest for the players as they take on the Milan P1 event now from October 10-18.
  • The 2026 season is another exciting chapter for Premier Padel as the unified global tour expands under the governance of the FIP. With 25 tournaments in 17 countries across five continents, watch the world’s best players compete hard with all the quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals streamed live on Red Bull TV.
  • The free-to-play mobile game “Red Bull Padel: Court Legends” is available for download now on iOS and Android through the AppStore and Google Play Store respectively, so padel fans can experience the action for themselves.
