PACKTALK Update Expansion comes as a free over-the-air software download to all 2nd gen DMC Packtalk devices.

PLANO, Texas (August 17, 2026) – Cardo Systems, the global leader in wireless communication systems for powersports, announces ‘Mesh Boost’, a major software update that expands group connectivity and functionality for PACKTALK users.

Mesh Boost increases the Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC) group capacity up to 31 riders and passengers, the largest group in the industry. The update also introduces two new capabilities: Public Mesh and Remote Groupingfunctionality.

This update is free and delivered Over-The-Air through the Cardo Connect App for all 2nd-generation PACKTALK devices. The new expanded Mesh is also compatible with previous Packtalk generations. These older devices will still be able to connect to Mesh Boost powered users, but will not enjoy the new Mesh Boost capabilities on their own device.

We know many riders have been waiting for this update, and we appreciate their patience. Cardo takes pride in ensuring all new products and services brought to market are thoroughly tested to meet the exacting standards set by the Research and Development team. Throughout development, we made a deliberate decision to deliver only the capabilities that meet the reliability standards riders expect from Cardo, rather than rush features that weren’t ready.

“Mesh Boost has always been about making group communication simpler and more capable,” said Dan Emodi, Chief Marketing Officer. “While this journey took longer than we originally planned, we made a conscious decision not to compromise on reliability. With larger group capacity, spontaneous Public Mesh, and easier setup through remote pairing, Mesh Boost strengthens our leadership in mesh technology and builds on a decade of innovation since launching the first motorcycle mesh communicator in 2015.”

Cardo’s Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC) creates a self-healing, self-adjusting mesh network that enables seamless, full-duplex intercom between multiple riders. The network automatically adapts as riders join, leave, or move out of range, maintaining a stable, crystal-clear connection without the need for manual re-pairing. With support for large groups and extended range through relay-based connections, DMC ensures that riders stay effortlessly connected on the road, no matter how dynamic the ride.

The update more than doubles the number of drivers and passengers who can connect via its Dynamic Mesh Communication (DMC), expanding to now include up to 31 riders and passengers.

Public Mesh enables spontaneous communication with nearby DMC users within range. Riders can select Public Mesh in the Cardo Connect App.

Understanding that all riders don’t start at the same place when heading for a ride, Cardo’s Remote Grouping allows a group to be set up ahead of time by sharing a link generated within the Cardo Connect App. Once in range, devices automatically connect to the Dynamic Mesh.

The ‘Mesh Boost’ software update will be available for free from the Cardo Connect App for all eligible second-generation DMC devices, including the PACKTALK PRO, EDGE and NEO.

Additionally, look for a fresh look and upgraded user experience in the Cardo Connect App, making it easy to navigate the new ‘Mesh Boost’ features.

The Mesh Boost release does not cover Harley Davidson and Schuberth’s SC-EDGE units. These are expected to get their own Mesh Boost release in Q4 of this year. Private Chat+ and Cellular Intercom features as were previously announced are currently still under development and will be released at a later stage.

*The Cardo Connect App must be synced with your device.
