MAHLE takes the lead in gasket coverage for Duramax® and Subaru® engines

  • MAHLE becomes first aftermarket provider to offer all required gaskets for Duramax® L5P 6.6L and Subaru® FA24F 2.4L engines
  • Gaskets available in all-inclusive sets and individually
  • Sergio Copriva, Head of Powertrain and Mechatronics: “This launch demonstrates our commitment to service support for demanding applications”

MAHLE Lifecycle and Mobility is pleased to now offer its customers all the required gaskets for a Duramax® L5P 6.6L and Subaru® FA24F 2.4L engine rebuild. Available in complete sets and as individual components, this introduction makes MAHLE the first aftermarket parts and services provider to offer full gasket coverage for both engines in the North American market. “Our ability to deliver first to market original equipment (OE)-quality sealing solutions for certain types of Duramax® and Subaru® engine rebuilds demonstrates our commitment to precision, innovation, and long-term service support for the industry’s most demanding applications,” said Sergio Copriva, Head of Powertrain and Mechatronics, MAHLE Lifecycle and Mobility, North America.

As powertrain systems become more sophisticated, this expansion underscores the Group’s commitment to delivering OE-quality components for today’s most advanced powertrains – ensuring performance, reliability, and support for the vehicles our customers depend on every day. This launch of MAHLE reflects the deep understanding of modern engine design and the evolving needs of customers in the North American aftermarket. MAHLE gaskets are engineered to meet the full-service engine repair needs of vehicle owners, technicians, and automotive shop professionals across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico

The successor to the 6.6L LML engine (2011-2016), the next generation Duramax® L5P represents a significant advancement in General Motors’ diesel engine technology. Engineered for heavy-duty towing and hauling applications, the L5P is a quiet V-8 turbo-diesel engine that delivers up to 470 horsepower and 975 lb-ft of torque.

The Subaru® FA24F 2.4L engine powers several high-demand Subaru® models including 2019-2024 Ascent, 2020-2024 Outback, and 2021-2024 Legacy designs. The Subaru 2.4L, turbocharged, horizontally opposed four-cylinder (boxer) engine with a displacement of 2.4L (2,387 cc) features an all-aluminum head and block. The increased displacement, along with the use of direct-injection and a turbocharger, allows this engine to perform similarly to a naturally aspirated six-cylinder engine.
