Virgin, Utah (October 22, 2025) – In a showdown that will be etched into the history books of Red Bull Rampage, seventeen of the world’s top mountain bike athletes descended upon Southwest Utah for the premier big-mountain freeride competition. After an intense contest where we saw the best in the world deliver their best top-to-bottom runs, ultimately first-time competitor Hayden Zablotny emerged victorious as champion. For fans that want to rewatch the action of either the men’s or women’s competitions, the replay is available on Red Bull TV.
Today’s contest had everyone on the edge of their seat, with creative lines met with impressive tricks on the toughest terrain in the sport. The competitors were determined to push the boundaries of freeride in a show that captivated the fans and judges. Ultimately, Hayden Zablotny, with a score of 96.00, took the first place prize, presented by Ford.
Zablotny is the first rookie since Red Bull athlete Brandon Semenuk in 2008 to win the storied freeride competition. Zablotny made a small mistake in his first run, but ultimately pieced everything together in a tremendous second attempt. The Canadian’s line had the most difficult features in the competition, and the 22-year-old linked each with style and control.
“I was trying to stay as calm as possible and keep my nerves under control,” explains Zablonty, who cleanly incorporated seven tricks into his run. Reflecting on his line, Zablonty sought to carve new features like his harrowing double drop at the entrance. “I just wanted to build something that would showcase my building and riding style—and something I’d be stoked on riding as well.”
Claiming second place was Thomas Genon, a Red Bull Rampage veteran with 12 appearances under his belt. After making a mistake in his first run, Genon had everything weighing on his second attempt. The Belgian made the gutsy move to 360 his first drop, which scored high for its high risk. Genon followed up with additional tricks and two technical step-downs, which have blind landings.
“I realized that the first spin drop was going to be the point decider,” Genon explains. “I had one more [trick] in mind and I didn’t pull the trigger because I didn’t want to throw it all away.”

Given Genon’s long history with Red Bull Rampage, it felt like a dream coming to fruition to land on the podium. “It’s cliché, but I’ve been working at this for so long, and started to think I probably wouldn’t get a podium,” he reflects. “I advise everyone to keep pushing.”
Red Bull Rampage veteran Tom Van Steenbergen brought home the third, earning a score of 94.00 during his second run. The Canadian’s run was packed with heavy tricks like a caveman, 360, and cork 720. “I knew in my first run the exact mistake I made and the adjustment that needed to happen,” Tom Van Steenbergen explains. “I was so relieved, and I have a lot of bad history at this venue, so I’m beyond stoked to get a podium.”
Utah local Jaxson Riddle took home the Utah Sports Commission Best Trick Award for his Heelclicker Backflip, inspired by his motocross roots. “No one’s ever brought a [heelclicker backflip] to Red Bull Rampage, and attempted it on a step down, so I thought ‘why not do both’, and it worked out,” Riddle says.
The DECKED Digger Award went to the team of Hayden Zablotny, who tackled a relatively new line to this storied site. They were rewarded for taking on a fresh build that required toughness, creativity and a positive outlook.
Adolf Silva from Spain won the BFGoodrich Tires Toughness Award after his resiliency in practice to piece his run together.
The athlete-voted McGazza Spirit Award was given to Aiden Parish, who suffered an injury during practice, but maintained high spirits throughout the dig and ride days. He planned to go big for the competition, stomping an amazing 92-foot jump during practice.
